18 Points Used to Diagnose Fibromyalgia

If you have been diagnosed woth fibromyalgia you may notice pain in these areas.

Back of the neck

If you have fibromyalgia, you may have tender points at the back of the neck, where the base of the skull and the neck meet. Neck pain can also be caused by injuries, rheumatoid arthritis, or activities that strain the neck, like slouching or sleeping in an uncomfortable position.

Elbows

Fibromyalgia patients may also feel tenderness on their forearms, near the crease of each elbow. The pain tends to be below the crease and toward the outer side of the arm. Other causes of elbow pain can include tendonitis or repetitive strain injuries.

Front of the neck

In addition to the back of the neck, doctors will check potential fibromyalgia patients for pain at the front of the neck. This pair of trigger points is located well above the collarbone, on either side of the larynx.

hip-pain-fibromyalgia

Hips

Hip pain is common in those with osteoarthritis, but people with arthritis tend to feel it in the joint. In contrast, people with fibromyalgia may have a tender point near where the buttock muscles curve to join the thighs.

low-back-pain-fibromyalgia

Lower back

The lower back is one of the most common body parts to be the source of pain. Overall, more than 1 in 4 U.S. adults has experienced low back pain. However, people with fibromyalgia may have pain trigger points at the very top of the buttocks, right at the bottom of the lower back.

knee-pain-fibromyalgia

Knees

While knee trouble is common in people with fibromyalgia, the inside of each knee pad may feel tender touch

shoulder-blade-pain-fibro

Upper back

Tender points are often sites on the body where tendons and muscles meet. Such is the case for this pair of tender points, located where the back muscles connect to the shoulder blades in the upper back.

trapezius-pain-fibromyalgia

Shoulders

In addition to tenderness in the upper back, some people with fibromyalgia have tender points just above that, halfway between the edge of the shoulder and the bottom of the back.

sternum-pain-fibromyalgia

Chest

People with fibromyalgia may have tender points on either side of the sternum, a few inches below the collarbone (near the second rib). The sternum, also known as the breastbone, helps protect the heart and lungs.

Holistic therapies are an amazing ways to help ease the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Mindfulness meditation dna healthy diet.

Reiki and Meditation

Creating Focus

Usui Sensei taught his students the first pillar of Reiki, the Gassho meditation. Gassho means “two hands coming together”. Dr. Usui taught his students to place their hands in the Gassho position every morning and evening. Gassho teaches the art of quieting the mind and creating single pointed focus in meditation.

One basically places their hands in prayer position, closes their eyes, and brings all their awareness to the tip of the fire (middle) finger. When the mind wanders, gently press the fire fingers together and refocus. This technique is detailed in “Reiki the Healing Touch”.

I begin my daily sessions with Gassho, and then I offer prayers for myself, for others and the planet. Next I send distant Reiki to all who have requested it.

Below is a sample of a 21 day reiki meditation programme

A 21-Day Reiki Meditation Program

You can use this 21-day program to learn more about Reiki, develop the ability to focus, to empower my prayers, goals and visions; and to receive answers.

Days 1-7 – Begin by creating an intention or a question. Draw the Usui power symbol in front of your body and with your hands, move the energy into your solar plexus. Breathe deeply, imagining that you are breathing in the essence of the symbol. As you exhale allow the energy to permeate every cell of your body, and expand out into your emotional body, your mental body, all the way into your spiritual body.

State your intention or ask your question. Sit quietly with this energy for 5-15 minutes. If your mind wanders, simply invoke the name of the power symbol three times and visualize it.

When you finish, acknowledge that you are holding the full light of the Reiki energy and it will be with you through your day.

Write notes about your experience in a journal. Include any thoughts, words, images or feelings that came to you.

Do this even if there seems to be no logic to it. Often Reiki and the Divine speak to us in symbols, or with pieces of a puzzle that will come together later by reflecting back on your journal.

Days 8-14 – Begin by creating an intention or a question. Draw the Usui mental and emotional symbol in front of your body and with your hands, move the energy into your heart. Breathe deeply, imagining that you are breathing in the essence of the symbol. As you exhale allow the energy to permeate every cell of your body, and expand out into your emotional body, your mental body, all the way into your spiritual body.

Imagine any unhealthy mental or emotional patterns being rewoven into healthy thought, feeling and response patterns. State your intention or ask your question. Sit quietly with this energy for 5-15 minutes.

If your mind wanders, simply invoke the name of the mental emotional symbol three times and visualize it.

When you finish, acknowledge that you are holding the full love of the Reiki energy and it will be with you through your day. Write notes about your experience in a journal.

Days 15-21 – Begin by creating an intention or a question.Draw the Usui distant healing symbol in front of your body and with your hands, move the energy into your entire body beginning by moving the energy from the crown and down through your feet.

Breathe deeply, imagining that you are breathing in the essence of the symbol. As you exhale allow the energy to permeate every cell of your body, and expand out into your energy field.State your intention or ask your question.

Take a moment to imagine or visualize the symbol taking the form of a bridge of light. This bridge reaches through time and through space. Allow the bridge of light to carry Reiki energy back in time as it permeates all levels of your consciousness and the multiple dimensions of your being.

Next allow the energy to flow forward in time creating harmonious energy in your future. Now bring the energy into the present moment.

Sit quietly with this energy for 5-15 minutes. If your mind wanders, simply invoke the name of the distant symbol three times and visualize it. When you finish, acknowledge that you are holding the timeless healing power of the Reiki energy and it will be with you through your day. Write notes about your experience in a journal.

This 21 day program is designed for those who are attuned to level two Reiki. Level I practitioners could modify it using level I energy instead of the symbols. It is possible to also extend the program for another 21 days by replacing the symbols with the three Reiki Master symbols, or with the Karuna symbols of your choice.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful, and that you are willing to explore the importance of creating special time to deepen your relationship with the Divine and the love of the Reiki energy.

Being Now is not as easy as it sounds

When I watch my kids and their friends play together I am just so amazed and in awe of their total immersion in the world of imagination. They laugh so hard at the imaginery pet frog leaping over the couch. They fall out with their friends at the drop of a hat yet when it’s time for their friends to go home they don’t want them to leave. They forget so quickly about the arguments and focus completely on the games they are playing. I am always so envious at this instinctive behaviour. There is no thought of tomorrow, they have no sense of time and no responsibility.

I practice being now, I even have Be now tattoo’d upon my hand to remind me but I am still not quite there yet!!Which again is totally contradictory as if I was being Now then I am here and this is now.

Meditation and slow breathing is my go to for being now. I use my daily reiki precepts to remind myself to focus on today and my mindfulness to gain control of my now.

It’s definitely a journey and I am slowly but surely releasing my need to be chasing my destination.

Oh to be a child again….#lovelittlepeople

Helpful Responses To An Initial Awakening — The Kundalini Guide

http://www.kundaliniguide.com/help-for-initial-awakening/

After practicing kundalini this week I started noticing for the last three nights I would wake at 4 am and feel like I should get up, but last night I woke every hour. I did a bedtime kundalini routine this time instead of my usual morning one. I have had the most vivid dreams each night. I practiced kundalini last year and stopped to switch to Yin yoga and pilates as I had read far too much on kundalini energy and freaked myself out. Something keeps drawing me back to this energy, I don’t want to be scared of it but this time I am going to trust in it and know that it is for my highest good. Unless of course I can’t get my sleeping pattern back, then I may have to scream (dramatic Ahhhhhhhhhhh)

I would love to know of any others positive stories about kundalini energy or if you have had any side effects from this that you worked through.

Thank you kindly

Namaste

Clearing energies

Detoxing the energy of your mind, body, and spirit can do much more than clear a few heavy vibes. It can change the way you see your day, your life, your experiences, and your relationships. But what exactly is an energetic detox?

Recieving regular reiki whether by a practitioner or from yourself can do wonders for your energy levels

Some days, you may not even realize that your energy was heavy or you felt off until the day is almost over. That’s OK. The more you practice these body scans and detoxes, the easier it will become to cleanse your mental, physical, and spiritual energy.

Clearing mental space

Before you start your day, take a few moments to connect to your mental, emotional energy, noticing what comes up. These tools can help you do it:

1. Essential oils

I always recommend smelling a few drops of orange or peppermint essential oil to cleanse and open the mind first thing in the morning or during the midday slump. This can help clear any dusty energy left over from a poor night’s sleep or the grogginess that sets in halfway through the day.

2. Energetic movements

If you already have a yoga or fitness regimen, that’s great. Another way to move energy during the day is by simply making some arm circles or doing a few lunges to get the blood circulating.

3. EFT

For those of you who haven’t tried emotional freedom technique (aka tapping/EFT), give it a try and see if it helps soothe the mind’s anxieties, worry, fears, and overall negative, unhelpful vibes. Tapping has been known to help relief stress, anxiety, and bring clarity to the mind.

Clearing physical space

How do you feel when you walk through the front door of your home? Are you energized, light, and open? Or heavy, cluttered, and depleted? If it’s the latter, it might be time to give some of these tools a try:

1. Sage smudge sticks

Light some sage or palo santo and carry it around your space with the intention of dissolving any negative, unserving, or heavy vibrations. Once you’ve done a walk-through, thank the space for its guidance and set a prayer for what you want to call into it. Then, burn some incense to help lift and energize the space with your prayer.

2. Decluttering

If it’s been a while since you’ve gone through your desk, office, closet, or shed, take a few hours and get decluttering. By letting things go in your home, you’ll release stagnant energy in the body as well.

3. Crystals

If you have the ability to spend a little money (or a lot, depending on your stone!), consider place crystals around your home, bedroom, office, and car to keep their energies protected, cleansed, and uplifted. I recommend amethyst near the bed for dreams, rose or crystal quartz inside the bedroom for love, and tiger’s-eye and black tourmaline on the desk to bring clarity of thought.

Clearing spiritual space

Remembering the triad of mind, body, and spirit can help you move the negative space in your life and start attracting all that you desire and intend. Here are a few techniques for cleansing your spiritual clutter:

1. Disconnecting

Let’s say you’ve just completed a task or project, finished an intense meeting with someone, or had an interaction that lingers. Now, it’s time to close the energetic connection. Lift your arms up like you’re going to make a big circle, then cross them in front of the chest making an X. This energetic technique closes the energy between two connected beings or things.

2. Breath detox

If you are feeling tired, sore, depleted, or heavy in the morning or at night, place your hands on your heart and send some love and light into your body through a round of five deep inhales and exhales. Fill your essence and energy up by simply being with yourself and your breath. I find doing ten minutes of slow deep breathing to be very energising

3. Morning ritual

Setting an intention for yourself for the day. This helps clear my mindset, focus my energy, and bust through lingering negativity.

Day One of chakra cleanse

So I am feeling a cleanse and detox coming on and why not combine this with my reiki.

After much research..thanks Google.  I have decided to do 3 days with each juice.  I do love a smoothie and juice so this will be a fabulous way to raise energy detox and hopefully strengthen my reiki.

Just for today I shall work on my root chakra and drink lots of red colours in my juices.  My juice is beets red apples and ginger. Ginger is a fabulously grounding spice and one I find great for digestion.

Let’s see what magic awaits. X
