Script for Loving Kindness Meditation

Meditation on Lovingkindness

In this meditation on lovingkindness, allow yourself to switch from the usual mode of doing to a mode of non-doing. Of simply being. As your body becomes still, bring your attention to the fact that you are breathing. And become aware of the movement of your breath as it comes into your body and as it leaves your body. Not manipulating the breath in any way or trying to change it. Simply being aware of it and of the feelings associated with breathing. And observing the breath deep down in your belly. Feeling the abdomen as it expands gently on the inbreath, and as it falls back towards your spine on the outbreath. Being totally here in each moment with each breath. Not trying to do anything, not trying to get any place, simply being with your breath. Giving full care and attention to each inbreath and to each outbreath. As they follow one after the other in a never ending cycle and flow. If distracting thoughts arise, acknowledge them, then return to the practice.
And now bringing to mind someone for whom you have deep feelings of love. Seeing or sensing this person and noticing your feelings for them arise in your body. It may be simply a smile that spreads across your face, or your chest becomes warm. Whatever the effects, allow them to be felt.
Now letting go of this person in your imagination, and keeping in awareness the feelings that have arisen.
Bring yourself to mind now. And seeing if you can offer lovingkindness to yourself, by letting these words become your words…
May I be happy
May I be healthy
May I ride the waves of my life
May I live in peace
No matter what I am given
And noticing the feelings that arise and letting them be, as you look within yourself with mindfulness and equanimity.
When you are comfortable, try offering lovingkindess to someone who supports you, who has always “been on your side.” Bringing this person to mind, imagining them perhaps across from you, and letting these words become your words…
May you be happy
May you be healthy
May you ride the waves of your life
May you live in peace
No matter what you are given
Once your feelings flow easily to a loved one, turn your attention now to someone with whom you have difficulty – it’s best not to start with the most difficult person, but perhaps someone who brings up feelings or irritation or annoyance. And seeing if you can let these words become your words as you keep this person in awareness…
May you be happy
May you be healthy
May you ride the waves of your life
May you live in peace
No matter what you are given
Notice the sensations and feelings that arise within you. And seeing if you can just allow them and let them be.
And now bringing to mind the broader community of which you are a part. You might imagine your family, your workmates, your neighbours, or fan out your attention until you include all persons and creatures on the planet. And including yourself in this offering of lovingkindness, as you let these words become your words…
May we be happy
May we be healthy
May we ride the waves of our lives
May we live in peace
No matter what we are given
Notice the sensations and feelings that arise within you. Sitting with them for a few moments until you are ready to end the practice.

Trigger Unconsciousness in You?

I love listening to Eckhart tolle and reading his books ‘The power of Now’ and ‘A New Earth’

In our day to day life we can use every situation as a time to Practice being mindful. We must first become aware of the times when we are unconscious.

“What are the moments of life that tend to trigger unconsciousness in you?” says Eckhart

Unconsciousness, spiritually speaking, means that you are ‘taken over’ by reactive habitual patterns of thinking and behavior. You become angry, defensive, moody or negative.

Some people are very mindful … until money issues come up, and then there is fear and panic. For others it’s jealousy that takes them over or it could be that when you talk to certain people (like your parents) you ‘lose it’ in some way, maybe becoming frustrated, judgmental or impatient. Take a moment and look at the last week or even just the last day and see what has triggered you to become unconscious. This way, these triggers lose their power to pull us into unconsciousness and negativity.

We can now meet those triggers from a new place of heightened awareness and can choose new responses rather than ‘falling into’old reactions.

Ok I’ve had quite a few today already After visiting an elderly client for her weekly reflexology session I couldn’t help but notice how impeccably neat her house was. Everything had its place and was so colour co-ordinated. I couldn’t help but feel envious of this lady, which sounds so strange as she is in great pain all day and it takes her great effort just to get out of bed. But even so I did and I left her house heading straight for mine.

I must minimise my life and create an order. But with three kids, a dog and 2 guinea pigs it just isn’t going to be that easy. My partner arrives home to chaos and I’m sure he is away to sit down and watch TV, well that would irritate me greatly. So I suggest he helps as I need to clear cupboards and drawers and all the kids clothing. I hear him moan from the kitchen about doing the dishes. I can feel anger build up inside me, why can’t he just get on with it and be happy. Then I think we are not suited anymore as he doesn’t think the way I do and he is so moany and shouty and he is just dampening my inner happiness.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR….all the chaos was created by me for me?? This is one of my triggers. Oh dear lord. AWARENESS kicks in. RETREAT to my bedroom to so some self reflection. And try to start my day from now, with appreciation for any help given and a few hugs here and there and note in my journal.

Thoughts upon thoughts. And relax xx

First Tai Chi class

thZ6BAD195

As a Reiki Practitioner I do regular reiki self healing and meditation on myself in the comfort of my own little home.  Sometimes I feel I  get too comfortable in my own surrounding that I forget that there is a world out there full of things to learn and people to meet.  So I decided I would try a new thing this week which was Tai Chi.

I found a little class in a church not to far from me and took my mum along to check it out.  We were greeted with a warm welcome by many of the women in the class, who said to us “don’t worry if you cant follow it, its took us years to learn and we still muck it up, but its a wonderful class”  So with those words I felt relaxed and welcome and was looking forward to the class.

The lady taking the class was also a Reiki Teacher and this came across in her class, almost immediately I could feel the energy in the room and it  was such a wonderful calming energy.   The teacher came over to me in the break to ask if I had taken a class before, which I had not.  She said I looked so peaceful and really flowed with the movements so I told her I was also a Reiki Practitioner and this class seemed perfect for  me to keep on developing my energy.

So needless to say I will be back again next week, If its good enough for Bruce Lee its good enough for me.

Discovering New People!

The more I research into Energy Healing  the more people I discover amazing new techniques to learn and practice.  I am finding that there is a theme that seems to underly most of them.  Meditation, Forgiveness, Love and Compassion, to be aware of thoughts and emotions, breathing practices and a presence in the moment.

I do love how many of these people were scientists, quantum physicists, chiropractors, doctors.  I think I like this as it proves what I have been practicing with Reiki and also for the mainstream people who may be put of by Reiki and energy healing as they think its just for hippies and New age People…

Bruce Lipton – The Biology of Belief

Dr David Hamiliton – I love Me

Bradley Nelson – the emotion code

Byron Katie – it works

Wow these are just some of the people that I have discovered over the years who are making such a difference to peoples mental health.  There is such a shift happening Now, and it is so desperately needed at this point in time.

Let me know what books have really changed your mental health, I love reading and finding out new techniques

Heavenly Energy

Once connected to the Earths Energy, the next on to practice is connecting to the Heavenly Energy.  Just the same way we connected to the Earths Energy we use the same process to connect to the Heavenly Energy.  The symbolic body part that holds the Heavenly energy is the head.  Emanating from the Heavens is a light and this is Heaven energy, it is less physical than Earth energy.  The clarity of this energy aids the practice of stillness within which we remember our spiritual connection.

This is an Active Meditation.

  1. Stand up feet hip width apart, gaze gently at the floor whilst spine is erect and arms comfortably positioned at the side of your body.
  2. Visualise above your head a bright ball of energy.  This beautiful ball is drawing on the energy of heaven, it is light and bright and the ball is filled with a magnificent ethereal energy.
  3. Breathe in, and as you do so raise your hands and clasp the ball of bright light and then bring the ball of heavenly energy down the centre of the body to the Hara, hold it there as you pause and feel yourself filling with heavenly energy, then as you breathe out through the crown to rest above your head.. Do this 4 more times.
  4. Stand in the space of Heavenly energy, its brightness and lightness, its clarity, and when you are ready seat yourself back down and stay in your meditative place whilst you reflect of you experience of this Heavenly Energy.th2U7GJZ1D

Happiness is a skill

Over the past few years I have been working on my inner self instead of focusing too much on the materialistic side of life.

I discovered mindfulness which helped me deal with my physical pain which turns out was brought on by my mental chatter which I was unaware of!.go figure!!

Meditation became part of my life, and from here my consciousness grew. It isn’t easy in this world to be conscious, empathetic and happy. With so much going on in the world that seems so wrong it can get very easy to be fearful of everything. I have two kids and practicing mindfulness in the beginning made me realise that everything I say and do impacts there life. Then I went on to study neuroscience and wow..did that bring more fear into my life. From before birth to 6 those tiny beautiful children are being programmed by mainly…ME…..Ahhhhhh seriously, if I didn’t find life difficult before I bloody well do now!!

It was then I really put all my effort into becoming a better version of Me.

I stopped reading News, I no longer scroll through the newsfeeds on social media.

I listen to motivational speeches every day, meditate, yoga and keep practicing being present, Even if it’s just to listen to which ever kid is having a tantrum over how I cut their sandwiches.

Being happy I feel is a skill especially after living life with so much fear. Knowing that the brain was just doing its job trying to protect me from the dangers that lurk in the supermarket!! Knowing now I can connect new neural pathways in my brain by thinking different thoughts and repeating these to create better emotions.

I’m happy I’m happy I’m happy……doesn’t quite work..but over time…and creating the feeling of happiness inside whilst meditating each day is better and better. Namaste and happy days.

Watch “Don’t get disturbed by anything! Eckhart Tolle” on YouTube

I can just listen to Eckhart tolle for hours he is so wise and calming. His books The power of now and A new Earth are life changing books.

Clearing energies

Detoxing the energy of your mind, body, and spirit can do much more than clear a few heavy vibes. It can change the way you see your day, your life, your experiences, and your relationships. But what exactly is an energetic detox?

Recieving regular reiki whether by a practitioner or from yourself can do wonders for your energy levels

Some days, you may not even realize that your energy was heavy or you felt off until the day is almost over. That’s OK. The more you practice these body scans and detoxes, the easier it will become to cleanse your mental, physical, and spiritual energy.

Clearing mental space

Before you start your day, take a few moments to connect to your mental, emotional energy, noticing what comes up. These tools can help you do it:

1. Essential oils

I always recommend smelling a few drops of orange or peppermint essential oil to cleanse and open the mind first thing in the morning or during the midday slump. This can help clear any dusty energy left over from a poor night’s sleep or the grogginess that sets in halfway through the day.

2. Energetic movements

If you already have a yoga or fitness regimen, that’s great. Another way to move energy during the day is by simply making some arm circles or doing a few lunges to get the blood circulating.

3. EFT

For those of you who haven’t tried emotional freedom technique (aka tapping/EFT), give it a try and see if it helps soothe the mind’s anxieties, worry, fears, and overall negative, unhelpful vibes. Tapping has been known to help relief stress, anxiety, and bring clarity to the mind.

Clearing physical space

How do you feel when you walk through the front door of your home? Are you energized, light, and open? Or heavy, cluttered, and depleted? If it’s the latter, it might be time to give some of these tools a try:

1. Sage smudge sticks

Light some sage or palo santo and carry it around your space with the intention of dissolving any negative, unserving, or heavy vibrations. Once you’ve done a walk-through, thank the space for its guidance and set a prayer for what you want to call into it. Then, burn some incense to help lift and energize the space with your prayer.

2. Decluttering

If it’s been a while since you’ve gone through your desk, office, closet, or shed, take a few hours and get decluttering. By letting things go in your home, you’ll release stagnant energy in the body as well.

3. Crystals

If you have the ability to spend a little money (or a lot, depending on your stone!), consider place crystals around your home, bedroom, office, and car to keep their energies protected, cleansed, and uplifted. I recommend amethyst near the bed for dreams, rose or crystal quartz inside the bedroom for love, and tiger’s-eye and black tourmaline on the desk to bring clarity of thought.

Clearing spiritual space

Remembering the triad of mind, body, and spirit can help you move the negative space in your life and start attracting all that you desire and intend. Here are a few techniques for cleansing your spiritual clutter:

1. Disconnecting

Let’s say you’ve just completed a task or project, finished an intense meeting with someone, or had an interaction that lingers. Now, it’s time to close the energetic connection. Lift your arms up like you’re going to make a big circle, then cross them in front of the chest making an X. This energetic technique closes the energy between two connected beings or things.

2. Breath detox

If you are feeling tired, sore, depleted, or heavy in the morning or at night, place your hands on your heart and send some love and light into your body through a round of five deep inhales and exhales. Fill your essence and energy up by simply being with yourself and your breath. I find doing ten minutes of slow deep breathing to be very energising

3. Morning ritual

Setting an intention for yourself for the day. This helps clear my mindset, focus my energy, and bust through lingering negativity.

When I HAVE I shall be Happy – Bullsh*t

When I own my home I shall be Happy

When I buy my new Car I shall be Happy

When I loose a stone I shall be Happy

When I live someplace sunny I shall be Happy

Do you remember how long your happiness lasted when you got your new car? Was it a Day a Week a Month, did it then become just a car and your happiness levels went right back down to where they normally sit?

Seeking happiness from outside sources may seem like a good idea or even the only idea but without working on yourself from the inside then your happiness levels will always go back to the level they were at before and if that wasn’t a great level then you could be in for some dark days.

Here are a few tips to help you out

Don’t waste your time chasing happiness you’re looking in the wrong place and missing the joy of now. Learn to enjoy the scenery as you travel through your days. Life on this planet is a never ending story.

  Stop sitting and waiting

You can’t sit back and wait for the perfect moment. What if it never comes?

You might be waiting for life to really begin, but first there’s obstacles and hurdles to get past. Or there’s something else that needs to be done before you can really get going.

There’s a big surprise in store for you, when you wake up one morning and discover those challenges and obstacles and things that needed doing first, were in fact your life.

And you’ll have used up your precious time waiting. Don’t do this to yourself.

Jump into life with both feet and take a chances. Get yourself a dream, because your dream creates your actions and your actions make up your life.

Enjoy the ride

If you’ve been going through life avoiding as many negative emotions as possible, I’ve got news for you. It doesn’t help. And it probably hurts.

Emotions are messengers, sent to remind us of what we’re doing or thinking.  They’re trying to get your attention.

Give the messenger a chance by allowing the feeling. You don’t have to wallow in bad breaks or nasty break-ups, but you do need to give yourself permission to feel unhappy or sad and scared.

Life will always be up and down. Feel the feelings, then move on and enjoy the ride. Don’t ever allow the hurts and pains of life to stick around because they’re waiting to be felt. Let them in and let them go.

If you realized how powerful your feelings were you’d allow them in and release them as soon as you could. Get this step right, so you can move forward.

Find the strength within

Failure isn’t horrifying, or something to be ashamed of, no matter what you’ve been told. It doesn’t mean you don’t measure up, but that you’re stretching yourself beyond your current limits.

It’s a winning game plan for life and frees you from the exhaustion of perfectionism.

Look at the lightbulb man thomas edison – he failed thousands of times before the light turned on, he never looked upon each one as a failure, just getting closer to the goal.

A child when learning to walk doesn’t try a few times then give up, no they keep on falling down until they can do it.

Remember those who never make a mistake, rarely make anything at all. And even if you never learn to love failure, don’t let that stop you from being like most of the great ones in life, who failed their way to success. It worked for them and it can work for you.

Be of service

By being yourself. The greatest gift you can give the rest of us is to walk your talk. Be honest with where you are. So you’re having a crappy day. Fine. Have people around you that you can be honest with.

Sometimes letting people support you is all you need to get back on track.

And do the same for others. Encourage them. Raise them up. Show them how valuable and necessary they are in our world.

Each one of us has something unique to bring to life, some special role to play. Don’t hide behind a mask of ‘how I should be’. The only ‘should’ that matters is that you be totally, brilliantly you.

I used to always think people would think I was shit to be around if I wasn’t happy but now I realise who really gives a toss.  It is ok to have down times, just don’t stick around in downtown city, get your ass back up and slap that smile on.

Get it done.

Is getting something done. Letting things pile up… be they unfinished projects, or unpaid bills or unspoken resentments, is a surefire way to step into a state of overwhelm. And nothing good comes out of overwhelm.

Invest a little time every night to save a lot of time every day.

Each night before bed decide on the most important things to be done tomorrow. And write them down, as though they were accomplished.

‘I’m really happy and grateful now that….I finished that project that’s been hanging over my head….I had that conversation I’ve been putting off for weeks…I set up those appointments I’ve been procrastinating about’.

Read them before falling asleep at night and you’ll be doing what many of the great inventors did, using your subconscious mind to work on your behalf while you sleep.

Create your own reality

When the day is over let it go. Mistakes might have been made. You did the best you could. And if you didn’t, tomorrow is waiting, fresh and new and filled with possibility. Don’t carry the nonsense of yesterday into tomorrow.

New experiences are waiting. But they exist only as possibilities as long as you think ‘of them’. They become overpoweringly real when you think ‘from them’ as though they already were.

You have been given the power of imagination. Use it.

Experience in your imagination what you wish were happening in your life, and as you successfully heighten your ability to use your imagination, you’ll discover this inner, invisible world to be the source of your reality; you’ll be living from your highest self.

REIKI – Anxiety and Panick

I have been practicing Reiki for 10 years and use Reiki in my daily life.  I use reiki on my family/pets/food/plants and of course myself.  I find it gives me a sense of being present and when practiced daily you too will find the wonderful benefits of this calming treatment.

My own personal experience with Reiki has been my own unique journey and yours will be too.  Reiki came into my life when I needed it the most, when I was experiencing anxiety and panick attacks

Looking back on my  journey now I am so thankful that I had experienced these anxieties within my past as it is a part of my journey.  Reiki and Mindfulness Meditation has made me face myself, my fears and emotions that I buried inside my subconscious mind.  During my time with reiki I have gone through many emotions myself and discovered a lot about the way my mind works.

I felt a fake at times as I was experiencing anxiety and I was the one trying to help people.  This lead me to delve a lot deeper into how the mind works (chimp paradox- mind management book  – highly recommend this one if you experience negative emotions surfacing) along with daily practice of reiki and meditation.

You don’t need to have health problems to be a great Reiki Master but what I will tell you is that throughout your own life’s journey with Reiki you will experience many different emotions and revelations within yourself.

Reiki is not just a course you do then you get a certificate and that’s you a Reiki Master.  This is a lifelong commitment that you make to yourself to fully immerse yourself into this.

I must admit I didn’t understand this at all when I did my Reiki one and Two.  I thought it was just a nice course I could do to help myself and get money from people to help them.

It is so much more than this.   It is a way of life, a daily practice, it really does make you a better person if you truly want to be.  Everyone wants to grow both emotionally, physically and spiritually and with Reiki you will grow in all areas of your life.
